You watch every single movie that's up for "Best Picture" at the Oscars—even if you don't watch the actual award show.

We have a classic movie-watcher on our hands. From what I can tell, you love films that capture the best parts of humanity. You recognize that storytelling at its core is meant to unite us. And you, my friend, are not afraid to let a film sweep you off your feet and tangle you in all the feelings—you’re no stranger to a cheeky little movie-theater tear, after all. And that’s just what I love about you. A movie that has depth and soul and emotions and heart is exactly what you’re in the mood for tonight, isn’t it?

Here are three films we think you will love, personalized from your unique taste:

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE (2006)

Dir. Valerie Faris, Jonathan Dayton

This is one of those movies that you can distinctly recall even years after watching it. A family of six of the most different individuals go on a road-trip mission to help seven-year-old Olive live out her dream of competing in a little miss pageant. The film is beautiful, uncomfortable and simultaneously heart-warming and heartbreaking. The genius dialogue is what really takes it to the next level. The monologue about suffering trumping happiness. I think about it every other day. Plus, the film features stellar performances by Greg Kinnear, Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Paul Dano, Abigail Breslin, and Alan Arkin.

Check this one out if you want to see a great performance by Steve Carell before everyone realized he could be a “serious” actor.  You’ll love it if you also liked FORREST GUMP or MATILDA.

JULES AND JIM (1962)

Dir. François Truffaut

This film is a piece of art. Set before, during, and after WW1, it depicts the story of two friends, Jules and Jim, who meet a free-spirited woman named Catherine. Both men are attracted to her, but Catherine and Jules soon get married. The best way of describing the film is actually a line I’m going to borrow from its original trailer: “A tender, cruel film. As surprising as life.”

Check this one out if you want to see an intense, breathtaking version of a love triangle.  You’ll love it if you also liked PULP FICTION or CALL ME BY YOUR NAME.

DO THE RIGHT THING (1989)

Dir. Spike Lee

DO THE RIGHT THING tells the story of one sweltering hot summer day in a Brooklyn neighborhood, where racial tensions run high. It's beautiful, sad, captivating, and still as powerful now as it was when it came out in 1989. Lee is a master of depicting emotion and his writing, and pairing it with breathtaking cinematography—making it impossible to pick up your phone while watching.

Check this one out if you’re ready to reflect for at least an hour afterwards. You’ll love it if you also liked MOONLIGHT or SHE’S GOTTA HAVE IT.
